11. APPROVAL OF CONTRACT BETWEEN THE MANATEE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDA FOR A HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST/TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST
Description
As assured through the Florida Diagnostic Learning Resources System (FDLRS) grant, the contract between the Manatee County School Board and The School Board of Sarasota County, Florida provides for a position of Human Resources Specialist/Technology Specialist. The Specialist will provide assistance to the designated district in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive system of personnel development to the education of youth who are exceptional and/or have unique needs based on locally assessed needs and established state priorities. The cost of the contract is $66,475.00 and is allocated as part of the 2017-2018 FDLRS grant.

12. APPROVAL OF CONTRACT BETWEEN THE MANATEE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDA FOR A CHILD FIND SPECIALIST
Description
As assured through the Florida Diagnostic Learning Resources System (FDLRS) grant, the contract between the Manatee County School Board and The School Board of Sarasota County, Florida provides for a position of Child Find Specialist in Manatee County. The Specialist will provide assistance in the location, identification and evaluation of all children 0-22 years of age with emphasis on children 0-5 who are not being served in a public school, or who have or at risk of developing special or unique needs. The cost of this contract is $98,730.00 and is allocated as part of the 2017-2018 FDLRS grant.

13. APPROVAL OF THE DATA SHARING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE SARASOTA BALLET OF FLORIDA, INC. AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDA.
Description
The purpose of this Agreement is to delineate the responsibilities of The Sarasota Ballet of Florida, Inc. and The School Board regarding the sharing of relevant student data for students participating in the Sarasota Ballet Dance - The Next Generation (DNG) Program. The DNG program is an afterschool program for students in grades 3-12 that provides instruction in ballet, jazz, elements of dance and composition and serves to increase students' confidence and self-esteem.

Booker, Englewood, Fruitville, Garden, Glenallen, Gocio, Gulf Gate, Lakeview, Lamarque, Phillippi Shores, Southside, Tatum Ridge, Toledo Blade, Tuttle, Venice and Wilkinson) recognizing that they have created healthier school environments through promotion of nutrition and physical activity.

Description
CONTINUATION: Grant funds of $18,000 will improve literacy instruction in grades 9-12 at Booker High, Sarasota High, Suncoast Polytechnical High, Riverview High, Venice High and Pine View School and increase reading performance for students in those grades.

31. APPROVAL TO AWARD BID #18-0389 FOR FREESTANDING COMPUTER KIOSK
Description

Bids to provide 'Freestanding Computer Kiosk' were received from four vendors on October 19,2017. The bid of Touch Screen, Inc., was the best low bid meeting the advertised specifications. Reasons for not selecting the apparent low bid are included with the bid tabulation. This bid is for a period of six months. The funds for these purchases are contained in the budget allocated to the Information Technology Department.



Recommendation
That the bid of Touch Screens, Inc., to provide 'Freestanding Computer Kiosk' in amount not to exceed $63,840.00, be approved as presented.

32. APPROVAL TO AWARD RFP#18-0386 FOR PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE BROKERAGE SERVICES
Description

Proposals to provide 'Property and Casualty Insurance Brokerage Services' were received from three proposers on October 19, 2017. The proposal of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., was the best proposal meeting the advertised specifications. This proposal is for three-year period with option to renew for two additional one-year periods. Compensation will be in the form of commissions paid to the broker by the insurance companies at an annual rate of 5%, not to exceed $125,000.00.



Recommendation
That the proposal of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management, Inc., to provide 'Property and Casualty Insurance Brokerage Services' for a three-year period, be approved as presented.

36. APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT #5 TO ARCHITECT'S CONTRACT FOR THE VENICE MIDDLE SCHOOL HVAC RENOVATION AND BUILDING UPGRADES
Description
The scope of work for this amendment is to provide additional architectural and MEP design services for additional power and data drop revisions for Venice Middle School Building #4 in order to provide additional student testing capacity in this building. The total amount for these changes shall not exceed $3,035.00. These funds are available through the project budget.

Recommendation
That Amendment #5 to the Agreement dated March 1, 2016, with Harvard Jolly, Inc., for the Venice Middle School HVAC Renovation and Building Upgrades be approved as presented.

The project scope of work consists of security improvements to Riverview High School which involves the addition of a security door and transaction window in the Administration lobby, new front entry security gates, and new polycarbonate panel roofing for the aquaculture greenhouse. This contract has been approved by School Board attorney and is available for review at the Construction Services Department. Funds for this project are contained in the 2017/18 Facilities Services Department budget, project 4562-D/W Reroofing and project 5542-Instructional/District Remodel, and Safety & Emergency Management Department budget, project 4014-Security Single Point of Entry.

42. APPROVAL OF DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACT WITH McINTYRE ELWELL & STRAMMER GENERAL CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE ENGLEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL-RESTROOM BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Description
The project scope of work consists of construction services for a restroom building at the Englewood Elementary campus. This contract has been approved by the School Board attorney and is available for review at the Construction Services Department. Funds for this project are contained in the 2017/18 Construction Services Department budget, project 5050-PE Bathrooms Project.

Recommendation
That the Design-Build Contract for the Englewood Elementary School-Restroom Building Construction project be approved as presented.

43. APPROVAL OF DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACT WITH P. J. HAYES, INC., DBA TANDEM CONSTRUCTION FOR THE SARASOTA HIGH SCHOOL-ANCILLARY ELECTRICAL SERVICE RELOCATION DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Description
The project scope of work is design and install a new ancillary electrical service that will provide power to Building #8 (Custodial), parking lot lighting in the US 41 lot, and the football stadium lighting on the Sarasota High School campus. The current electrical service that feeds these areas is located adjacent to Building #42 and will eventually be removed as part of the renovation being completed by The Ringling School of Art Design. This contract has been approved by the School Board attorney and is available for review at the Construction Services Department. Funds for this project are contained in the 2017/18 Construction Services Department budget, project 3056-SHS Ancillary Electrical Service Relocation.

Recommendation
That the Design-Build Contract for the Sarasota High School-Ancillary Electrical Service Relocation Design and Construction project be approved as presented.

44. APPROVAL OF DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACT WITH McINTYRE ELWELL & STRAMMER GENERAL CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE BOOKER MIDDLE SCHOOL-ADMINISTRATION BUILDING SECURITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Description
Provide construction services for the remodeling of the administration building reception area. Scope of work includes rebuilding of the existing reception area walls, replacement of the front counter millwork and installation of impact resistant interior and exterior doors with access control at the Booker Middle School campus. This contract has been approved by the School Board attorney and is available for review at the Construction Services Department. Funds for this project are contained in the 2017/18 Safety, Security & Emergency Management Department budget, project 4014-Security Single Point of Entry.

Recommendation
That the Design-Build Contract for the Booker Middle School-Administration Building Security Construction project be approved as presented.

45. APPROVAL OF DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACT WITH McINTYRE ELWELL & STRAMMER GENERAL CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE SARASOTA MIDDLE SCHOOL-ADMINISTRATION BUILDING SECURITY & FENCING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Description
Provide construction services of new security fencing and remodeling of the administration building reception area. The security fencing includes installation of aluminum gates with panic door hardware, aluminum fence and chain link fence. The interior work in the administration reception area includes rebuilding of the existing reception area walls, replacement of the front counter millwork and installation of impact resistant interior and exterior doors with access control at the Sarasota Middle School campus. This contract has been approved by the School Board attorney and is available for review at the Construction Services Department. Funds for this project are contained in the 2017/18 Safety, Security & Emergency Management Department budget, projects 3670-Fencing and 4014-Security Single Point of Entry.

46. APPROVAL OF DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACT WITH MAGNUM BUILDERS OF SARASOTA, INC., FOR THE VENICE HIGH SCHOOL-ADA DOOR UPGRADES 2017 DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Description
Provide design services for Americans with Disabilities (ADA) power access doors at several building locations; Administration (West and East entries), Classroom (entry from Courtyard), Gymnasium (West to Corridor), Cafeteria (NE entry) and VPA (entry from Courtyard); and provide construction services at the Administration Building to install power door operation and access control to doors #01-101 and #04-100 at the Venice High School campus. This contract has been approved by the School Board attorney and is available for review at the Construction Services Department. Funds for this project are contained in the 2017/18 Facilities Services Department budget, project 5540-Small Projects and Planning Department budget, project 5540-Small Projects.
